Why we're about it

I've found myself searching recently for a religion that I can believe in. In order for me to believe in a religion, it has to both align with what I think to be my views and align with the world around me as I see it. After trying many of the mainstream religions and not finding any that felt right, I decided I would write my own religion - a philosophy of positive thought and action that made some attempt to fit my views of God with the world around me. Naturally I decided to use a wiki, since they're one of the most powerful documenting systems humanity has come up with thus far - and, also, because this would allow the web at large to contribute (hopefully with something other than hate speech and defacements) if members of Earth found that they had views that resonated with mine, or responses that would help make this a more useful document.

I sincerely hope not to start any holy wars, either textual or physical. I understand that many others will have views that are radically different from mine, and I will make a honest attempt to respect those views. This wiki is as much a sandbox for me to play in as I try to work out what I believe surrounding spirituality as it is anything else.
